Today was the first experience in driver’s education class. I’m the oldest person in the room…so old that I qualify to fill out the Voter’s Registration form on the second page of the DMV driver’s licence application. Took me a while before I could find a party affiliation.

The class is four days long, eight hours per day. It’s meant to cram as much information into our little heads as possible. Tomorrow, a group photo is being taken. The instructor who runs the driver’s school is a former KUIC-FM disc jockey.

Eight hours could not go fast enough, but three-thirty finally rolled around and I was relieved to be leaving. I went across the street to a pharmacy store and bough some Metabolife, a diet-enhancer thing that’s supposed to help you lose weight [”guaranteed!”]. Unfortunately, what they don’t tell you is they cram that little pill with loads of caffeine, and it’s probably not a good idea to drink Mountain Dew while taking a pill. Didn’t stop me from doing it, though.

I got home around four in the afternoon to a quiet house. My grandma is off in San Francisco at the moment, so I have the entire house practically to myself. Almost…there is a cat I’m sharing the house with. The quietness got to me…I ordered our basic cable [still need to pick a date for installation] and around five in the evening, I walked a block down to the Factory Outlet stores. Basically, it’s a huge outdoor mall.

Went into the Jockey store. They sell a lot of underwear there. Didn’t appeal to me, so I left. Went inside the Tommy Hilfiger store. They sell a lot of socks there. Didn’t appeal to me, so I left. Went inside the Black & Decker store. They sell a lot of power tools there. Didn’t appeal to me, so I left.

I finally found myself at Wal-Mart. Can’t go wrong there…

It took me all of twenty minutes to find just what I needed to buy there. “Room For Squares” was re-added to my collection, but this time as a DVD dualdisc. I also bought an AT&T cordless phone-clock combo deal that was marked down almost 50% to $50. Also bough Fleetwood Mac’s “The Dance” on CD…I had bought the DVD concert about two days ago.

I tried to find Target, but was unsuccessful. Around seven in the evening, I walked by a McDonald’s and grabbed something to eat. Then, I headed home.

My iPod seems to only want to last about two hours lately, so I’m probably going to end up at Wal-Mart sometime tomorrow evening to buy a Belkin battery backup deal.

  1. Eight hours a day for a driving class? Wow, that’s like a regular school day. XD
